| PROGRAMME OUTCOME | View File |
| Programme outcome (POs) Biotechnology as an emerging discipline involve study focusing on the utilisation of biological systems to derive useful benefits for mankind. Students pursuing the subject develop clear understandings on the fundamentals of living systems and their possible utilities. They are further trained to visualise how varied inter-disciplinary approaches can help in modifying living systems or their by-products that could serve mankind and its environment better. Students successfully completing the programme gain opportunities to opt for higher studies as well as engage in research programs; they can also choose jobs in the government sectors including academic institutions, research organisations & in private sector encompassing range of fields such as Healthcare, Disease diagnostic, Genetic Engineering, Mariculture/Aquaculture, Food and Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Nano Biotech, Textile Industry, Agriculture and Environment biotechnology etc. Biotechnology with its immense growth potential and talent pool will continue to play a significant role as an innovative manufacturing hub. The scope is wide and offers opportunities in the fields of both research and bio-processing. This course offers further opportunities to pursue higher studies in advanced disciplines like Biophysics, Bio-Medical Engineering, Nano-biotechnology, Bio-electronics, Computation Biology and also in the presently evolving AI interface . Students opting for research can work in premier institutes/laboratories of the country generally funded by DBT, DST, ICMR, MoFPI, FSSAI etc. The field also provides scope in the areas like Intellectual Property Research and Patenting, scientific writing or medical writing etc. There is also prospect of jobs in government and private diagnostic laboratories. One can also become an entrepreneur with ideas ranging from agri-biotech, marine-biotech, medical-biotech, Bio-IT services, etc. | View File |
