Department at a glance
The Department of Bengali was founded in 1962 alongside the establishment of Pandu College, with Dr. Bhabani Prasad Sarkar serving as the inaugural Head of the Department. Currently, the department comprises four permanent faculty members and offers HS and UG (CBCS & FYUGP) courses for both major and regular students. Furthermore, the Department has formed MoUs with two institutions to facilitate various academic activities. Since its inception, the department has remained dedicated to delivering high-quality education and has played a pivotal role in nurturing numerous accomplished graduates within and beyond the academic realm.

Rabindra JayantiThe Department of Bengali of Pandu College organized a vibrant cultural as well as an academic programme on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti on 9 May 2026 at the Digital Classroom, Science Block of the College.
