Department at a glance
Due to the sincere effort of Dr. Prabin Chandra Sarma, the then Principal, who devoted his every moment for the development of the college. Sanskrit was introduced as a general subject in Higher Secondary and Degree level in 1985. Major in Sanskrit is introduced in 2012. Dr. Dipak Kumar Sarma was the founder teacher of the department.

To spread the depthness of Sanskrit, the root of all languages, its importance we teach this language amongst students.

Our mission is to reestablish thousands years of glorious past in terms of language, Indian Culture, our heritage -----with this aim we are teaching this language to remove away a general fear for Sanskrit. We teach Sanskrit to produce high quality human resource.
